Agnė Kulbytė
Born in 1979 in Vilnius, Lithuania.
In 1997 she graduated from M. K. Čiurlionis Art Gymnasium; 1997–2003 studied painting at Vilnius Academy of Arts, since 2008 lectures here (Department of Painting). She has an Art Licentiate qualification degree (2007) and a PhD from the Lithuanian Culture Research Institute in Vilnius (2014).
Since 2000 Kulbytė participates in various exhibitions and symposiums in Lithuania and abroad (Norway, Germany, Poland, etc.); curates exhibitions of Lithuanian (Henrikas Čerapas: The Songs of Venta River, Vilnius, 2022) and international artistic projects (Romanticism without end, Vilnius, 2017; Ad Originem, Vilnius-Krokuva, 2013–2016).
Since 2008 she is a member of Lithuanian Artists’ Association.
Main solo shows by her: Study of Grey (Kaunas, 2019), Świecenie (Cracow, Otwarta Pracownia, 2016), Reductions of Painting (Kaunas; Berlin, 2010), Distant Landscapes (Nordic Artists’ Centre Dale, Norway, 2007), Landscapes in Motion I-II (Vilnius, 2007), etc.
