Celestial Bodies. Swarm, 2026, oil on canvas, 50x50 cm

The human face here becomes not a portrait, but a transparent field through which a swarm of bees moves. As if thoughts, memories or cosmic particles.
A person is perceived as a fragile, constantly changing body, permeated with invisible connections. The network of white lines resembles the nervous system, maps of constellations or fading memory, and the moving swarm introduces a pulse of life and anxiety.
This is a painting about the boundary between the individual and the crowd, between the body and the cosmos.

Paintings on canvas

It are popular at all times. It is a durable and safe way to create because the canvas is stretched beyond the base and has no contact with the other environment. The canvas can also be stretched on acidified cardboard. The picture painted on canvas is more resistant to temperature fluctuations and therefore more durable.

Canvaswork became common in European painting as early as the 16th century. The paintings on the canvas are conveniently framed and transported. The canvas, which is evenly stretched on the frame, is primed, thus forming the basis for the painting. And then the artist can unleash his imagination - the paintings on canvas are painted in high-quality oil or acrylic paint, tempera.

Why did painting on canvas become popular? Primarily because of the convenient ability to move the image to another location. The canvases are much lighter than the paintings on the wooden base, and the works made on the wall are almost impossible to move. In addition, the paintings on a quality canvas last longer than before. on paper or cardboard. Contemporary painters can enjoy the cheaper price and good quality of linen or cotton canvas compared to their Renaissance predecessors. High-quality dried wood without branches is used for painting frames. This ensures that the image does not distort over time. Of course, the picture is also affected by the humidity and temperature of the environment, so the owner must take care of the appropriate exposure conditions.

How to choose paintings on canvas for the house?

First, choose the piece you like. The paintings on canvas are made by a wide variety of artists.
You should normally find the author's signature and year on the visual side of the completed image (unless the author has chosen otherwise) to indicate that the work is complete. On the other, non-pictorial side of the canvas, the author's name, surname, title of the painting, year of creation, technique used and dimensions in centimeters should be indicated. This is one of the signs of recognizing the original work.

Another important point is to evaluate what the canvas will look like in the interior. It will also depend on the framing method you choose - in a minimalist interior, a canvas hung with a subframe will fit, and a luxurious or exclusive interior may need the right way to frame the picture. It all depends on what image you want to create at home. Here you can find various paintings with flowers, animals, natural motifs, abstractions, landscapes, still lifes.
